The Story Behind Glow

Have you ever seen hundreds of fireflies light up a summer evening sky, or fill a grassy field while you wait at dusk for the Fourth of July fireworks?  These were the moments that inspired me to write my debut picture book, “Glow.”  

 

This book is meant to be enjoyed by children and adults alike, with its story filled with catchy rhymes and imbued with an uplifting and powerful message of self-love.  I believe that teaching children to love themselves is one of the most important life lessons, which, if started at an early age, will help them grow into more self-compassionate adults.  We need more heartwarming stories like “Glow” out in the world right now.  

 

This story was also born out of my passion for creating awareness around mental health and introducing emotional intelligence to children at a young age.  I hope Glow’s inner light serves as a beautiful metaphor, one that promises hope and growth during times of uncertainty.
